Who’s ready to turn the page on 2020? We’re with you, so let’s talk 2021… Specifically, Salesforce Winter ’21 Release highlights.

To help get you ready for the Winter ’21 Release (September 18 – Release Readiness Live! and October 10 & 17 – Release Weekends), Ad Victoriam’s certified consultants have poured through the latest Salesforce innovations across mobile, industry solutions, content management, AI, and more to highlight seven of the standout new features.

1. Break Up Your Record Details with Dynamic Forms

AdVic Note: Using the Lightning App Builder, Dynamic Forms now allows you to create mini-page layouts that can be placed anywhere. In addition, they can also be hidden on a per-user basis.

Salesforce Overview: Dynamic Forms is the next step in the evolution of Lightning record pages. It adds the ability to configure record detail fields and sections inside the Lightning App Builder. This feature, which is now generally available and enabled for everyone, includes some changes since the beta release.

2. Optimize the Opportunity Scoring Model

AdVic Notes: Available to the entire Salesforce community with the Winter ’21 Release, you now have the availability to exclude certain records – and ignore fields of your choosing – from the Einstein Opportunity Scoring model.

Salesforce Overview: Fine-tuning your scoring model can yield more accurate scores. When setting up Einstein Opportunity Scoring, you can choose to have Einstein look only at opportunities that meet certain conditions. Also, decide if you want Einstein to exclude any custom opportunity fields from the scoring model.

3. Find Changed Deals at a Glance

AdVic Notes: Sales Managers who need to stay updated on the movement of deals will especially like this. Change to the Opportunity List views in Lightning allows users to see if Opportunity amounts or close dates have been changed. In addition, via the Forecasting tab, you now have the ability to update sales stages.

Salesforce Overview: Opportunity deal change highlights help your sales team prioritize work by showing recent changes to amounts and close dates. For example, knowing which deals changed helps sales managers with their weekly coaching sessions. In the opportunities list view and Kanban view, text colors and arrows indicate amounts and close dates that changed during the last seven days. And users can hover over an arrow to get details.

4. Apply Audiences to Record Detail Pages with Record-Based Criteria

AdVic Notes: Communities often require additional customization as they are external facing. This new update extends the customization to the record detail page which was previously only customizable through the use of record types.

Salesforce Overview: You can now vary what people see on a record detail page using audience criteria based on record fields. For example, you can display different theme layouts when someone is looking at a coffee machine or a box of tea, or different pages for high-value and low-value opportunities. Also, we moved record criteria from the advanced section into the main body of the editor, so you can easily combine it with user criteria to create custom formulas.

5. Display Survey Pages Based on Your Data

AdVic Notes: Do you use Salesforce Surveys? If so, you now have the ability to create unique customer journeys by defining which survey page they skip to next based on Salesforce data.

Salesforce Overview: Let data in your Salesforce org determine which survey page participants view next. Use variables to define conditions in your page branching logic. Use associated record merge field variables and participant record merge field variables to define field-level conditions. Use org variables to define conditions based on your org’s information. Use custom variables to define conditions based on values that you define.

6. Be More Efficient with the Actions Launcher Redesign

AdVic Note: This update brings more parity to the Field Service app between iOS and Android. This is a great step toward a more unified experience across the devices making training and troubleshooting easier.

Salesforce Overview: Working on iOS and Android is easier with the updated Actions launcher. The Actions launcher’s look and feel are now the same across platforms, giving users a consistent experience, no matter their device. Section headers make it faster to find what you’re looking for when navigating through action lists.

7. Analyze Your Lightning Page Performance

AdVic Notes: Ever get a complaint about page loading speeds from a Lightning user? Salesforce has now given you the ability to see what components are the culprits causing this. Locate the “Analyze” button in the Lightning App builder to get suggestions for page loading speed improvements.

Salesforce Overview: Discover ways to make your record page perform better based on analysis right inside the Lightning App Builder. Performance Analysis in App Builder evaluates the fields, instances of the Related Lists component, and metadata of a record page. With the click of a button, get best practices and suggestions for improving page performance and the end-user experience.

Not aware of Salesforce Maps? In a nutshell, using Salesforce Maps allows sales reps to make more money at their desks or in the field. They can free up more time to sell by decreasing time spent planning, driving, and tracking field activities. Utilizing Salesforce Maps (formerly MapAnything) turns the Salesforce experience interactive by displaying all of your Salesforce data on a map. Your teams can easily visualize all of your accounts, log calls, send emails, and create new events/tasks directly from the map.

The Big Five

So if an all-encompassing data visualization, routing and scheduling, and optimized lead generation system is collectively missing from your sales process, here are five reasons that make Salesforce Maps integration – which Ad Victoriam is accredited for – a no-brainer for your team’s success.

1. Map-Based Visualization

Better understand hard-to-find data on a map-based interface and make location-driven decisions that drive productivity. Also, uncover new opportunities to produce revenue by seeing which accounts are nearby anchor accounts while planning a sales route.

2. Optimized Routing

When you have the ability to optimize routing, you can build and launch routes that cut down on windshield time, cross-town driving, and lower mileage or gas costs. In addition, you will ensure timely arrival to high-value prospects and customers, thus building robust pipelines using accurate prospect data and territory visualization.

3. Prioritized Scheduling

A seven-day schedule can be optimized with visits prioritized based on Einstein or Pardot scores, or potential revenue to spend the most time with the most valuable customers and prospects. From there, easily view the schedule via exchange-based calendars on mobile or desktop.

4. Lead Generation

With a Salesforce Maps integration, you have the ability to access necessary data to turbocharge your prospecting efforts and marketing campaigns. You also have the ability to fill schedule gaps with nearby opportunities and more.

5. Mobile Compatibility

While on the road, you can easily automate the admin processes, like check-in and check-out, via a mobile device. Additionally, your team can utilize voice command turn-by-turn directions and turn on real-time traffic alerts to safely maintain productivity.

Is extending the power of your sales and service professionals your challenge? Ad Victoriam’s certified consultants can integrate a Salesforce Maps intelligence solution for you starting today! Just click here and we’ll connect with you quickly!

Was it the Fireside Chat with Salesforce Chairman/Co-CEO Marc Benioff and Apple CEO Tim Cook that was the highlight for you at Dreamforce 2019? Maybe it was the conversation with former President Barack Obama or exhibits you saw in the Dreamforce Campground? Perhaps it was a specific session you attended or Fleetwood Mac’s awesome performance, or even dare we say Ad Victoriam’s “sold-out” Taco Tuesday?

The answer will not be the same for every attendee, but amidst all of that excitement, there was some Salesforce news that came out of Dreamforce that you may have missed, and AdVic has capsulized a few of the highlights for you – as per Salesforce – here.

Introducing Customer 360 Truth

Salesforce Customer 360 is one integrated CRM platform that brings companies and customers together. And now with Customer 360 Truth, companies can unify all of their data across all touch-points so they can build a source of truth about their customers. Customer 360 Truth connects customer data, authenticates identity, governs privacy, segments audiences, and personalizes experiences.

Customer 360 Truth’s featured capabilities include:

Customer 360 Data Manager, which connects sales, service, marketing, and commerce customer data into a single global ID to deliver unified cross-channel experiences. With Data Manager, companies always have a complete, up-to-date, contextually relevant profile of every customer.

Salesforce Identity for Customers — their authentication service — provides a consistent, secure customer login across a company’s digital properties.

Salesforce Privacy and Data Governance provide customers and business users with the ability to manage privacy, consent, and preferences via one single application.

Customer 360 Audiences enables companies to capture, unify, activate, and analyze customer data at scale.

Apple and Salesforce Collaborate on the Best Devices for Business

Salesforce’s Marc Benioff and Apple’s Tim Cook spoke extensively about their companies’ strategic partnership (originally announced at Dreamforce ’18) during their opening day Dreamforce Fireside Chat. This strategic partnership strikes again with two exciting flagship apps and the next-generation Salesforce Mobile SDK:

The Salesforce Mobile App, powered by AI and reimagined for iOS, delivers a powerful new user experience enabled by Einstein, with advanced analytics and features exclusive to iOS, including Siri shortcuts and Face ID. Download the Salesforce Mobile App on iOS.

Trailhead GO, the first-ever mobile app for Trailhead, exclusive to iOS and iPadOS, empowers learners to skill up anywhere and at any time with more than 700 modules covering in-demand business and tech skills. Download the new Trailhead GO app on iOS.

The new Salesforce Mobile SDK, optimized for Swift and iOS 13, enables Salesforce developers to quickly build and deploy native Salesforce apps for iPhone and iPad. Get started with the Salesforce Mobile SDK for iOS (8.0 coming in January).

“Hey Einstein” — Salesforce Brings Voice to the Workplace

Salesforce brings powerful voice technology to CRM with Einstein Voice, giving millions of Salesforce users a customized, voice-activated interface for their apps. Here are some upcoming features:

Einstein Voice Assistant and Einstein Voice Skills (beta Spring ’20): Salesforce is expanding the Einstein Voice portfolio by introducing Einstein Voice Skills, which allows every Salesforce admin to create custom versions of the Voice Assistant for every user, whether they’re a sales rep, sales manager, service agent, marketer, etc.

Einstein Call Coaching (GA Winter ’20): Gain management-level visibility into your sales teams’ conversations through natural language processing that identifies keywords in sales calls so managers can quickly understand trends like a spike in competitor mentions, or best practices from the top performers.

Service Cloud Voice (GA Summer ’20): With Service Cloud Voice, telephony will be natively integrated with Service Cloud, allowing Einstein to read keywords from call transcriptions in realtime and serve up the right knowledge articles and next-best actions for agents, reducing time spent on cases.

Salesforce and Amazon Web Services Expand Global Partnership

Ad Victoriam’s consultants have been spending a lot of time interacting with many of the new features in Salesforce’s Winter ’20 Release, including some exciting updates made to Einstein Analytics, which we’re excited to share with you now.

Einstein Forecasting

AdVic Overview: Now get support for Quarterly Forecasting.

Salesforce Description: Do you use a quarterly forecasting schedule? Now use the power of Einstein to improve forecasting accuracy, predict results, and track how sales teams are doing.

Einstein Lead Scoring

AdVic Overview: Ability to control which leads to score.

Salesforce Description: Does your sales team need lead scores for only some leads? Tell Einstein to score only leads that contain certain values in lead fields. For example, if your sales team wants to score only leads from the communications industry, tell Einstein to include only those leads.

Einstein Automated Contacts

AdVic Overview: See only the contact data you have access to.

Salesforce Description: Opportunity Contact Role suggestions now respect the field-level security from the Contact object. Sales reps without access to contact fields, such as Email, Title, or Phone, no longer see those fields in the Einstein component or list views. Also, reps don’t see contact field values for contact records they don’t have access to. Lastly, when viewing the detail page for Opportunity Contact Role suggestions, contact fields don’t appear. To see the contact fields, navigate to the contact record.

Einstein Article Recommendations

AdVic Overview: Help your agents resolve cases faster.

Salesforce: Description: Einstein Article Recommendations uses data from past cases to identify Knowledge articles that are most likely to help your agents address customer inquiries.

Einstein Prediction Builder

AdVic Overview: See only the contact data you have access to.

Salesforce Description: Instead of filtering only on absolute field values, you can now filter on the value of one field compared to the value of another field or on a point in time. Make your filter logic more meaningful and relevant to your prediction question.

If you would like an overview of Einstein Analytics and see some of its exciting features in action, watch this video.

As part of their Summer ‘19 Release, Salesforce® has rolled out numerous new features for its Einstein Analytics (EA).

Ad Victoriam’s consultants have been spending a lot of time interacting with these features and we’re ready to share the best new Einstein Summer ‘19 Release features for a mix of skill sets – from End User to Senior Admin.

Speed Up Data Loads with Concurrent Dataflow Runs

AdVic Overview: Allows for data in Einstein Analytics to be refreshed more frequently.

Salesforce Description: For a production org with the Einstein Analytics Plus platform license, Analytics runs up to two dataflows concurrently when multiple dataflow jobs overlap. If more than two jobs overlap, Analytics puts the remaining jobs in the queue. Previously, only one dataflow job ran at a time.

Set Connection Mode for Connected Salesforce Objects in One Place

AdVic Overview: Allows for more optimized syncs of data flows, meaning your data flows are more efficient.

Salesforce Description: To eliminate potential conflicts, you now specify the connection mode for each connected Salesforce object in one place. This feature applies only to objects that use the Salesforce Local Connector. Previously, conflicts could arise because you could set this property for the same object in multiple places. You could set the “incremental” property in the sfdcDigest node of one or more dataflows. You could also set the connection mode in the Connect page. We also added Full Sync as a connection mode option.

Drive Adoption and Engagement with In-Dashboard Video Onboarding

AdVic Overview: Allows for dashboard specific training to be put in place.

Salesforce Description: Help users get the most out of your Analytics assets by empowering them with educational videos right where they work. With the widget-specific Learn option, you can provide customized, right-on-time instruction for each dashboard and its charts.

Debug Steps with the Dashboard Inspector

AdVic Overview: Improved troubleshooting for Admins.

Salesforce Description: New functionality in the Dashboard Inspector makes debugging queries easier. Previously, query level information was only available if the query ran successfully. Determining issues with binding syntax or SAQL syntax are now easier to find and fix.

Revert to Previously Saved Versions of Dashboards, Lenses, and Dataflows Using Asset History (Pilot)

AdVic Overview: Saved versions to revert back to.

Salesforce Description: Until now, if you edited dashboards, dataflows, and lenses, you had to save a copy of each version if you wanted to revert to that version. With Asset History, every time you save a new version of an asset, Analytics automatically stores a snapshot of it. You can tag assets with descriptions for easy reference later when you or someone on your team wants to restore a particular version. View and revert to previously saved versions using Workbench API calls.

Sort on Dimensions Easily

AdVic Overview: Sort by dimensions without SAQL (code).

Salesforce Description: Sort dimension values in ascending or descending order with just a few clicks. Previously, you could sort dimension values only by using SAQL.

Predict Seasonal Data with New SAQL Timeseries Options

AdVic Overview: Prediction for seasonal metrics.

Salesforce Description: SAQL time-series makes the most accurate predictions possible based on your existing data. It selects the best algorithm for the data you have, even if your data has seasonal variation. time-series now supports daily and weekly seasonality as well as monthly, quarterly, and yearly seasonality. Does your caseload have a weekly variation with call volume peaking near the end of the week? No problem – use time-series to predict call volumes so you can plan.

From updates to Lightning Experience to Einstein Analytics to everything in-between, the highly-anticipated Salesforce® Summer ’19 Release increases productivity and delivers personalized customer journeys with the latest Customer Success Platform innovations.

Some features in Summer ’19 affect all users immediately. Other features require direct action by an administrator before users can benefit from the new functionality.

Ad Victoriam’s consulting team took a deep-dive through Salesforce’s extensive Summer ‘19 Release Notes document – all 545 pages of it – to highlight for admins nine of the most interesting updates you can initiate now.

The following changes all apply to Lightning Experience in Group, Essentials, Professional, Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, and Developer editions.

Reference Custom Metadata Type Records in Process Builder

AdVic Overview: Allows for best practices to be used by less hard coding and easier deployments than Custom Settings.

Salesforce Details: Reference custom metadata type records from a Process Builder formula to automate your business processes reusing functionality that you define. To change a value, you can update it in the custom metadata type instead of in your process and any hard-coded formulas that your process uses.

Keep Users in the Know with Notification Builder

AdVic Overview: Allows admins another way to notify users.

Salesforce Details: Send customized notifications when important events occur. For example, alert an account owner if a new support case is logged while trying to close a deal. Or, send a notification for a unique workflow built entirely with custom objects. Previously, you could send only standard notifications for use cases predefined by Salesforce. Notification Builder puts you in control of who needs to know what and when.

Set Up Mass Quick Actions in Communities

AdVic Overview: Allows community users to act on multiple records at once.

Salesforce Details: Mass quick actions are now available in Lightning communities the same as they are in Lightning Experience. Your customers can select up to 100 records in a list view and perform mass updates rather than updating records one at a time.

Take Control of the Hover State in the Tile Menu (Beta)

AdVic Overview: Good for those not using custom components.

Salesforce Details: The hover icon has been replaced in the Tile Menu component with a new display setting. You can show or hide the standard Salesforce hover icon for a menu item.

Power Up Your Related Lists with Enhanced Related Lists (Beta)

AdVic Overview: Take your related lists to the next level.

Salesforce Details: Show up to 10 columns with Enhanced Related Lists. Resize and sort your columns, perform mass actions, and wrap text.

Merge Cases into a Single Record (Beta)

AdVic Overview: Out of the box support for duplicate cases, a common issue.

Salesforce Details: If you have duplicate cases or cases that you want to merge into a single case, you can now merge two or three cases into one master record. When you merge cases, the master record is updated with your chosen field values. Most related lists, feed items, and child records are merged into the master record. The master record keeps the Chatter feeds, your values for read-only and hidden fields (except Created Date and Created By), related items, and security.

Sort Dashboard Components by Groups and Measures

AdVic Overview: Improved sorting capability.

Salesforce Details: Overhauled sorting in dashboard components and improved how components sort data. Instead of choosing to sort by label or value, you can sort by a named group or measure. Plus, dashboard components now support two-level sorting. Now you can sort a component by stage and then by the sum of the amount, or by average age and then record count.

Resize Columns in Lightning Tables

AdVic Overview: Ability to make all Dashboard tables readable.

Salesforce Details: For those times when a Lightning table column feels a bit cramped, go ahead and open it up by resizing it. You can resize columns but not rows. Resizing lasts only for the current session. So the next time you open the dashboard, the columns use their default widths.

Evaluate Each Record in Reports with Row-Level Formulas (Beta)

AdVic Overview: Allows for improved reporting and in some cases reduces the need for custom fields to do this.

Salesforce Details: Answering business questions sometimes means making a calculation on every row in a report. With row-level formulas, you don’t need to export report data to a spreadsheet or ask an admin to create a one-off custom formula field. Instead, write a row-level formula directly in the Lightning report builder.
